Gasoline Prices Still Lower Than Average in the Delta

Chicot Memorial

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — Memorial Day weekend is just a week away, and gas in the Delta still costs about 18 cents less than the state average and 50 cents less than the national average, but prices have been creeping up. The highest priced fuel is on the west coast, where the average is $3.70 a gallon. It’s averaging just under $3 a gallon on the east coast. One station in Long Beach had a gallon of regular priced at $2.09 earlier this week, and yesterday prices across the area ranged from $2.45 in Cleveland and $2.49 at a few locations in Greenville to $2.65 in Greenwood and $2.69 in Lake Village.
