Gasoline Prices Continue to Fall

THE DELTA (Ben Caxton) — gasoline prices continue to fall across the Delta. Nationally, the average U.S. price of regular-grade gasoline dropped 9 cents per gallon over the past three weeks, to $2.84. Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey says that price is 17 cents lower than what it was a year ago. The highest average price in the nation is $3.94 a gallon in the San Francisco Bay Area. The lowest average is $2.27 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In the Delta gasoline in Cleveland and Greenwood went for $2.09 per gallon at a number of locations. In Greenville, as of Tuesday morning, the best prices ranged from $2.16 to $2.19 at Murphy USA on MLK Boulevard and Double Quick.
