Friars Point Gets $35k for New Police Cars

FRIARS POINT, MS (Ben Caxton) — The town of Friars Point is getting a $35,000 federal grant to buy two new police vehicles. The USDA’s Community Facilities Program helps rural first responders provide essential services. The money is part of $409,000 awarded to 11 Mississippi towns announced recently by Senators Roger Wicker and Cindy Hyde-Smith.
