Free Public WI-FI Coming to Downtown Clarksdale

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Free public Wi-Fi could be available this summer in downtown Clarksdale. At Monday’s city board meeting, Jack Bobo of Clarksdale Revitalization told the mayor and commissioners that CRI plans to buy and install a community Wi-Fi system that will cover about 15-square-blocks. CRI will place $36,000 in escrow to cover the cost of bandwidth for three years while the city and Clarksdale Public Utilities will install and provide power for the system.
