Fourth Person Dies From Jackson Gunfight

JACKSON (Ben Caxton) — Jackson police reported yesterday that a fourth person has died after last week’s gunfight and robbery at a Jackson apartment. 23-year-old Marquis Garrett, who had been fighting for his life in a local hospital, was pronounced dead Sunday night. The other victims have been identified as Garrett’s brother Dominique Garrett, and Jessie Kelly, both 23 years old, and and 21-year-old Jacarin Robinson. According to Jackson police, the Garretts and a third person were playing dominoes when at least three people entered and demanded their belongings. They say two of the suspects and the Garrett brothers were armed, resulting in the ensuing gun battle. No suspects have yet been charged in the attempted robbery.
