Flood insurance premiums on the rise

Greenville homeowners are facing rising costs for flood insurance, as Congress attempts to reduce the 24 billion dollars in debt owed by the National Flood Insurance Program. Analysts say even owners of homes built to required elevations after flood maps were in place will see higher premiums. Primary residences that receive a subsidy from the program could see spikes of up to 18-percent per year.
