Five Injured In Warren County Head-On Collision

WARREN COUNTY, MS (Ben Caxton) — A head-on collision in Warren County has resulted in five people being sent to the hospital. The accident occurred around 6:00 PM Wednesday evening when a northbound 2013 Honda Odyssey van driven by 54-year-old Karen Runnels collided with a southbound 2000 Ford Ranger pickup driven by 18-year-old Pattie Brown. Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said the two cars collided on Fisher Ferry Road south of its intersection with Grange Hall Road. Both drivers were both taken to Merit Health River Region, where they were treated at the hospital emergency room and released. A 16-year-old boy who was a passenger in the van was not injured, Pace said. A 5-year-old girl who was a passenger in the truck was also taken to River Region, while another passenger in the truck identified as a 19-year-old woman, was taken to University of Mississippi Medical Center. A 34-year-old man who was also a passenger in the truck was not injured. The crash is under investigation.
