First Phase Of New Pine Bluff Casino Opens Its Doors

PINE BLUFF, AR (Ben Caxton) — Pine Bluff’s new Saracen Casino Resort has officially opened its doors to gamblers. The annex portion of the $350 million dollar project, sports 300 slot machines and has already served about 10,000 guests since a “soft opening” a week ago. The overall project is expected to feature an 80,000-square foot gambling floor, 2,000 slot machines, and 50 gambling tables. Still to be completed by next summer are a 300-room hotel with conference and banquet centers, an entertainment venue, and several restaurants. The opening of what is now the largest ever tourism investment project in the state’s history comes one year after Arkansas voters approved legislation to legalize casinos.
