First Child Flu Death Reported in Mississippi

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi department of health has confirmed the state’s first and the nation’s fifth pediatric flu death of the season in a minor from south Mississippi with underlying health conditions. Flu shots usually take two weeks to produce immunity and are recommended for everyone six months of age and older; flu season typically peaks from January to March.
