Festival Scheduling Conflict Solved

Chicot Memorial

Officials with the Jackson Rhythm and Blues Tamale Festival have agreed to reschedule their event for August. Previously, it was set for September 20th and 21st, the same dates as the Mississippi Blues and Heritage Festival in Greenville. The scheduling conflict touched off concern that the two festivals would be competing for the same crowd, and it could wind up damaging the Delta’s economy if Blues fans got diverted to Jackson. After a series of talks, Jackson officials agreed to reschedule their event for August 16th and 17th, and the local festival will keep the September dates, which it has had for 20 years.
