Federal Operation Charges 255 People in North Mississippi

JACKSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — 255 people in north Mississippi face charges from homicide, drug distribution and arson to failing to register as a sex offender after being arrested during “Operation Triple Beam,” a project led by federal marshals that brought together over 30 local agencies in 13 counties along with state and federal law enforcement. The initiative’s goal was to reduce crime by identifying and arresting violent fugitives, targeting violent gang activity and collecting intelligence. In addition to the arrests, over $50,000 worth of narcotics, $50,565 in cash and 76 firearms were seized and 11 stolen vehicles recovered. The effort ran from August 13th to September 14th.
