YAZOO CITY, MS (Ben Caxton) – A double-shooting in Yazoo city Friday evening appears to have been motivated by retaliation. Friday night two people were shot in Yazoo. 53-year-old Otis Porter was arrested in the shootings say Yazoo City Police. Porter’s son was murdered about a year ago, Easter Weekend of 2016. The Yazoo City Police Chief said Porter shot two men Porter believes to have been involved in his son’s death. Friday’s shootout happened on Calhoun Avenue. The men exchanged gunfire with Porter. Bullets ripped holes in homes and shattered screen doors in the neighborhood. Justin Porter was murdered at Club Teflon last year. Twenty-seven-year-old Briddell Barber was arrested for Justin’s murder. He is also accused in a quadruple murder in Yazoo City in February. The two men shot Friday evening are hospitalized in stable condition.
