Evacuations in Desha County Due to Flooding

(Desha County, AR) — Desha County has had more than 10 inches of rain over the last two days and this has led to the evacuation of quite a few residents. Residents in McGehee west of Thompson Street, west into the Sherland Addition, Grandview Dottley, Mark and Jackson Streets have been or are being evacuated. Residents in those areas are not permitted to drive their personal vehicles so emergency workers have been using firetrucks and boats to evacuate residents. Two churches have opened their doors for flood victims.
