Escapee Captured In Alabama After 7 Weeks

TALLADEGA COUNTY, AL (Ben Caxton) — As Delta Daily News reported yesterday afternoon, the last of two February Washington county escapees has been captured. 29-year-old Jeremiah Hair was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Talladega County in Alabama on Wednesday. Hair escaped from detention in Washington County on February 3rd along with 23-year old Marquis Lavelle McKinney, who was jailed on a murder charge. McKinney was captured three days later at the corner of Alexander and Seventh streets in Greenville. Both men reportedly belong to the “Vice Lords” street gang. Hair had been charged with armed robbery, burglary, and felon in possession of a firearm and will be facing additional charges related to this escape attempt.
