Elvis Memorabilia Fetches $600,000 at Auction

GRACELAND (Ben Caxton) — Jewelry, clothing and other Elvis-related memorabilia brought more than $600,000 at auction this week during an auction at a Graceland hotel on Tuesday, the day that would have been his 84th birthday. A red velvet shirt likely worn on stage by Elvis at a 1956 show in Tupelo sold for $37,500. A gold and diamond ring that Presley wore on stage and gave to his father sold for $30,000, and a ring that Presley gave to singer J.D. Sumner sold for $22,500.
