Eight Counts Of Attempted Murder in Greenville Shooting

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A 21-year-old man has been charged with eight counts of attempted murder in connection with a weekend shooting in Greenville. Police say officers responded to the 400 block of North 8th Street shortly after 1:30 AM Sunday morning to find a 12-year-old girl, and her mother suffering from gunshot wounds. While the mother was only grazed the girl is currently in critical but stable condition at a Jackson hospital. Witnesses inside of the home told police that someone fired several shots into the house from outside of the home striking the victims. On Monday police took Kelvin Lewis into custody in the 500 block of South Broadway. More arrests are expected in the case.
