DSU Falls, But Still #3 Seed In Coming Tournament

DSU heads to the NCAA Tournament this weekend as the No.3 Seed. Devin Schmidt (right) needs 12 points to become the GSC all-time scoring leader.

 

CLEVELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — In basketball news the Delta State University men’s basketball team fell to Alabama-Huntsville 85-67 on Saturday night at the Pete Hanna Center. The loss marked second straight season the team fell in the semifinals of the Gulf South Conference Tournament to Alabama. Despite the loss, DSU has secured the Number 3 Seed in this weekend’s upcoming NCAA Tournament. The Statesmen’s Devin Schmidt who needs 12 points to become the GSC all-time scoring leader, was named to the 2017 All-Gulf South Conference Tournament Team.
