Dsu Earns Military Friendly? Designation Again

CLEVELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — Delta State University’s efforts to make campus inviting to armed military service members has resulted in a designation as a “Military Friendly®” School for the third straight year. In 2003, Military Friendly®, a trademark of veteran-owned business VIQTORY, began spotlighting colleges, universities, and companies that engage, educate, and employ service members. Rankings for colleges and universities came from assessing public data like degree transfer, advancement, graduation and job placement and proprietary data gathered from schools that participated in surveys conducted by the company. Delta State met all the benchmark standards, including academic policies and compliance, admission and orientation, culture and commitment, financial aid and assistance, graduation and career as well as military student support and retention. Sixty students with military backgrounds attended Delta State in fall 2018, as did more than 30 military spouses or dependents who received veterans’ benefits, according to Delta State’s Office of Institutional Research and Planning.
