Delta State University has been awarded a large grant for a math-science initiative

Chicot Memorial

The 924-thousand dollar grant comes from the Mississippi Department of Education and the U.S. Department of education to fund a three-year program for math teachers, primarily in the Delta Region. Officials say the grant will help provide additional training for teachers as they implement Common Core State Standards. Area middle school math teachers can apply to attend two initial programs that will be held this June.
