Delta State plans a million dollars in cuts

Chicot Memorial

Delta State University plans just over a million dollars in permanent cuts to the school’s operational expenses. Some academic programs will be eliminated, while 24 positions will be cut. That figure includes 14 positions eliminated by attrition and 10 individuals being laid off. Among the five academic programs eliminated was the Bachelor of Arts in Journalism. The student newspaper, The Delta Statement, will cease publication but continue in a digital format.
