Delta State Hosts First Annual Women’s Conference

CLEVELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — Dr. Vernell Bennett, Delta State University’s Vice President for Student Affairs, welcomed DSU family and guests to the first annual women’s conference yesterday. The theme for the two-day inaugural conference is “I Am My Sister’s Keeper.” The activities started with the “Rock the Red Pumps Project” luncheon with speakers Elizabeth Brewer Bush and Patsy Johnson sharing “A Day in Our Shoes.” The Lady Statesman Spa & Health and Wellness Fair immediately followed. Afternoon activities of included “This Is It” with encouraging words from featured speaker, Ms. Rochelle Owsley of Highly Favored Communications. The evening entertainment consisted of the presentation of “Emerald Awards of Excellence” at the Jobe Auditorium on the DSU campus.
