Crenshaw Train-ATV Crash Victims Identified

CRENSHAW, MS (Ben Caxton) — The two people killed when their ATV was struck by an Amtrak train Saturday night near Crenshaw have been identified as Ashlyn Helms and Mason Overall. Overall played football and basketball at Strayhorn High School before graduating three years ago. Helms graduated the following year. The train was traveling from New Orleans to Chicago when it struck the ATV. Authorities say crossing signals were flashing red but the ATV tried to outrun the train. None of the 121 passengers aboard the train were injured but the train was delayed for about four hours following the accident.
