CPU Pays a Bill and Donates Money

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Tuesday’s meeting of the Clarksdale Public Utilities board was short, as CPU commissioners reviewed financial statements and approved paying bills including $1300 to BKD Consulting for work done prior to their withdrawal from doing a rate study for the utility. The board also approved a $500 sponsorship of Coahoma Opportunities annual “Taste of Clarksdale”. In executive session, the board voted to appeal two unemployment decisions by the state department of employment security.
