CPU Orders New Uniforms for Workers

CLARKSDALE, MS (Paul Wilson WROX Radio) — Yesterday’s public meeting of the Clarksdale Public Utilities board was short and businesslike. In less than 15 minutes commissioners approved buying Carhartt work uniforms for electric, water and sewer crews and declared New Year’s Eve as a holiday, noting that it’s normally a slow day. Even though the business office will be closed for four days – from Saturday through Tuesday for both Christmas and New Years – CPU customers have four ways to pay their bills, online, over the phone, at the kiosk or at the drop box. In executive session, the board retained Jackson attorney Steve Brandon as special counsel on employment issues.

  1. “Despite late controversies, Hyde-Smith wins easily…”, yet you never mention what controversies your headline is referring to. The only controversy of which I’m aware is the idiocy of the governor appointing her in the first place.
