Court upholds Police Chief firing

Chicot Memorial

A court has sided with the city of Greenville, and upheld the firing of former Police Chief Charles Patterson. The City Council voted unanimously to fire him in December 2010, shortly after three women accused him of simple assault. Patterson appealed on the grounds that his constitutional rights were violated. A State Court of Appeals has now upheld the firing. Patterson was later hired as Chief of the Hollandale Police Department.
