MISSISSIPPI (Ben Caxton) — College is going to cost more this fall at all eight public Universities in Mississippi. On average it’ll cost you 6.6% more to enroll this fall. That’s an extra $463 per year bringing the average price for summer and fall courses to $7,491. Originally the increase was pegged at about half that. The additional amounts approved are due to shortfalls in state aid. The biggest increases are coming to Mississippi University for Women where tuition and fees will rise by 9.1%. Mississippi Valley State University and Jackson State will see the lowest increase at about 5%. Delta State University in Cleveland will charge an average of $6,859 in the fall, up 6.9 percent.
