Corrections Commissioner seeks trial delay

Attorneys for former Corrections Commissioner Christopher Epps are seeking a delay in his trial, which is currently set for January 5th. Epps is under indictment for allegedly accepting kickbacks to favor Brandon businessman Cecil McCrory and businesses McCrory worked with for prison contracts. Attorneys say they need more time to review 75 discs of evidence before the trial. Epps faces a long prison sentence if convicted. People who knew him were stunned by the allegations.
