Controversial choice for Greenville’s Parks and Rec

Metcalfe’s Mayor is expected to resign. Corey Holmes has been chosen as the new head of the Greenville Parks and Recreation Commission. As part of his employment agreement, he will have to resign as mayor of Metcalfe. Holmes previously faced controversy over whether he lives in Greenville or Metcalfe, since residency is a requirement to serve as mayor. He also faces legal trouble over allegations that he paid someone to take his teacher certification exams for him, and arranged for that deal for another person. The alleged ringleader of that scheme is currently in prison in connection with multiple cases of false teacher certification exams.
