Contraband Confiscated In Washington County

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Mississippi Department of Corrections war on contraband has come to Greenville as officers searched the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility Wednesday morning. MDOC officials discovered numerous smartphones, phone chargers, bags of tobacco, packs of marijuana and spice, cigarette lighters, cigarettes, packs of top paper, shanks, a pocket knife, and a sock filled with rocks in the area of the facility occupied by male prisoners. No contraband was encountered in the female holding areas. 24-year-old Africa Lance, a correctional officer who worked at the facility, was arrested and charged with misdemeanor possession of contraband. Several illegal items, including an open bottle of vodka, were found inside her car.
