Coahoma Tourism Board Elects New President

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — The Coahoma County Tourism board met yesterday and elected Bill Gresham to succeed Al Jones as board president for the next year. Executive director Bubba O’Keefe noted that four billboards promoting live music seven nights a week in Clarksdale will begin going up next week and will remain in place for the next year. The billboards are located near Jackson, Tennessee on I-40, near Vicksburg on US 61, south of Clarksdale on US 61 and near the US 61-49 intersection north of Clarksdale. Visit Clarksdale was one of four Mississippi communities recognized for “research in action” at this year’s Governor’s Conference on Tourism.
