Cleveland officer investigated for local dog shooting thanks his supporters

Cleveland police officer Greg Perkins thanked the dozens of supporters who showed up at this week’s alderman meeting. He’s been on leave as officials investigate last month’s call during which a tied up dog was shot in the family’s back yard as police investigated a suspicious person call. The officer told police he used force to put down the animal because he felt his personal safety was being threatened, but the family reportedly is suing the city. No action was taken by the local board.
