Clarksdale’s Bo Plunk Admits Discrimination Complaints True

Chicot Memorial

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Yesterday’s meeting of the Clarksdale city board was largely routine, but fireworks erupted when Ward 3 commissioner Willie Turner blasted Ward 1 commissioner Bo Plunk for discriminating against African-Americans including the county sheriff, Clarksdale’s police chief, and city attorney. Plunk responded that many of Turner’s comments were true but he often seeks a second opinion on matters adding that he has been a commissioner for ten years and would be “glad to get into a pissing contest” with Turner. Mayor Chuck Espy was forced to referee the exchange and said that everyone in the city needs to work together, suggesting that the city board should hold a work session on race relations.

  1. And where were you during this meeting?? Apparently not there with your ears on!! This is so bogus!

  2. Did you even watch the meeting?? Journalism is truly dead. Truth is no longer relevant. Bo Plunk should sue your rag for defamation of character.

  3. This is total bs… watch the video and quit trying to throw the race card in every conversation that doesn’t include you!!! Pitiful place that I grew up in as a quiet town with plenty of jobs. When the gangs took over, every one of the factories and the people that worked there left… just like I did. Try to work together… watch the video and clean up your lies.

You, my good man, were evidently missing from this exchange. Sad reporting! Maybe you should review the taped footage and get your facts straight.

Watch the video of the meeting. This is Mickey Mouse journalism. The racists are trying to get rid of a good man. Please take me off your mailing list, I’m done!

How can you sit back and post something that is not true and when called out on it remove the comments? Bo Plunk is a good man who has served his country and the city of Clarksdale and helps everyone no matter the color sex etc. He is a good man and he has a right to a second opinion in order to make sure it’s the best thing for the city of Clarksdale and because of that another commissioner wants to call him racist. I think your real story should be what are they trying to hid? Why don’t they want him to look out for the people of Clarksdale? So instead of trying to spread lies and hate on a good man why don’t you help this town stop the hate and lies and come up from all this. I am telling you false news helps no one. So Mr. Caxton ask yourself this are you reporting facts? You know your not. Can your lies hurt a man and his family? You know they can. God don’t like ugly Mr. Caxton so do the right thing take this false news down or is this just a way to boost your career? Either way you are the one that has to live with what your doing to an innocent man and his family. To all that know Bo Plunk and his family we know all these is lies and the ones who watch the video they know your lies as well and you have people dropping you without looking back because of you poor taste in writing and your lies.

This is the worst kind of journalism. I have watched the video of the meeting. Have you? I request that you go back and change your misleading and deceptive title to this article. Admitting that you don’t just take one person’s opinion and rather draw from many opinions is not discrimination. It is informed decision making no matter what it is for. Also, you quoted Mr. Plunk however, where are the provoking and fabricated claims Mr. Turner alleges? His wording was to entice a fight. I don’t know many people when their character is called to play that would have reacted differently. If you want to be respected as a credible source for news, please act like one.
