Clarksdale Wings Joint Finally Ready to Fly?

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — After months of delays, construction is scheduled to begin this week on a Wingstop restaurant downtown. Clarksdale Mayor Chuck Espy, Chamber of Commerce executive director Jon Levingston and other officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking yesterday at the Greyhound bus depot which was built in 1936. The project was announced over a year ago; contractors now say that interior renovations could be completed in as little as eight weeks. In addition to the fast food restaurant, the historic building will also house a tourist information center.
