Clarksdale Utility Suspends Another Worker

Chicot Memorial

CLARKSDALE, MS (Paul Wilson, WROX Radio) — The Clarksdale Public Utility board will discuss another suspended employee at tomorrow’s meeting. Teena Meredith has worked for CPU for three years as an administrative assistant for two general managers and an operations manager. She says new general manager Curtis Boschert suspended her on October 15th after she refused a demotion and transfer to the billing department. Boschert has hired Angela Haire, who worked for Boschert when he was Clarksdale city attorney, as his assistant. The CPU board generally conducts employee disciplinary hearings in executive session but during Meridith told local media last week that she would like her hearing to take place in open session. She feels her case is retaliatory in nature because of her support for former GM Mark Johnson, who was terminated last month.
