Clarksdale Police to Get Tough on Handicapped Parking

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — During yesterday’s meeting Pam Plunk, wife of city commissioner Bo Plunk, spoke about the abuse of handicapped parking at WalMart. Police chief Sandra Williams said she has issued a memo to police captains instructing them to enforce handicapped parking regulations across the city. While parking violators were debated at the council meeting, Clarksdale police say that between Friday and Sunday they investigated five auto burglaries and one attempted residential burglary. A rifle and cash were stolen from a car in the 600 block of West Second Street and shoes were stolen from a vehicle in the 1100 block of Park Center; nothing was reported taken in the other three incidents, and burglars were unable to gain entry at a home in the 100 block of Adams Street.
