Clarksdale Charter School Funding Increases by $100,000

CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — Every year Mississippi charter schools receive property tax payments from public school districts in which their students reside based on property taxes. Clarksdale Collegiate Public Charter School received just over $250,000 from Clarksdale Municipal School District this year, about $2000 per student. That’s about $100,000 more than last year, and that figure is expected to continue going up as the charter school adds a grade level each year, eventually enrolling students up to 8th grade. Clarksdale Collegiate currently has students from kindergarten through 3rd grade.
