CLARKSDALE, MS (Ben Caxton) — In a front-page story this week the Clarksdale Press-Register reports that the city has now asked the state auditor’s office to investigate Ward 1 commissioner Bo Plunk to determine if he has threatened a fellow board member and city department heads. A public dispute at Monday’s city board meeting between Plunk and Ward 3 commissioner Willie Turner brought things to a head. Mayor Chuck Espy says tension has been growing for several months he is “duty bound” to bring the matter to the attention of the state auditor and attorney general.
