City Concerned With Grass Clippings

(Greenville, MS)– At last week’s City Council meeting, Public Works director Brad Jones has brought to our attention that grass has began to get on the streets from people blowing grass clippings on the streets which causes issues with the city’s drainage systems. Grass has grown very tall on Colorado Street during rain and flooding and after it is cut it’s all out on the streets and stopping up drains again, Mayor Errick Simmons, the Charter and Ordinance committee members are already looking into the issue.

  1. Is this news? My street is flooded with every rain. It is nothing to see large mounds of leaves and grass clipping pushed into the street all up and down street. Guess no one knows what lawn and garden trash bags are for.
