Chicot County Man Arrested After Confessing to Theft

DREW COUNTY, AR (Ben Caxton) — A Chicot County man is in jail today after confessing to stealing property belonging to a logger in Drew County. The Drew County Sheriff’s Office says that on July 8th an iPad, a printer, two power converters, two battery-operated grease guns, and a number of tools went missing from the logger’s log-loading equipment. Evidence gathered by investigators pointed to a white Chevrolet Suburban and its owner, Paul Gene Hummel of Chicot County. While being interviewed by Drew County detectives Hummel reportedly confessed and revealed the location of the stolen items. Hummel is currently being held in the Drew County Detention Center where he is awaiting his first appearance hearing.
