Decision pending on a new police chief in Leland

The Leland Board of Aldermen will hold a special meeting today on the open position of police chief. 15 individuals have applied for that position, which became open when former Chief Leon Hicks was demoted this summer. The Board may vote today on a new chief.




Good news for Mid-Delta Regional Airport

The Mid-Delta Regional Airport has passed a TSA inspection. The inspection was aimed at making sure that the airport had a secured airfield during day-to-day operations. It was first inspection for Airport Director Draylan Gant, who took the position in September.





Bond reduced for Greenville resident facing sex charges

Bond for a Greenville man charged with the attempted statutory rape of a 16-year-old girl was reduced from 150-thousand to 35-thousand during a court appearance on Thursday. 22-year-old David Turner was arrested on November 25th after he allegedly assaulted the teenager, who was able to get away unharmed.
