Car-Motorcycle Accident Sends One To Hospital


GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — A two-vehicle accident late Saturday night has landed an area motorcyclist in the hospital. The accident occurred just after 9:30 pm Saturday night on Mississippi Highway 1 at the Junction of Highway 454. 37-year-old James Sides of Greenville was traveling south on MS1. When he attempted to turn left onto Mississippi 454 a 2008 Dodge Caliber driven by 57-year-old James Fuller of Isola pulled away from the stop on 454 turning left onto Highway 1 and into the path of the oncoming motorcycle. Fuller was not injured. Sides was taken to the Delta Regional Medical Center and later transferred to The University Medical Center in Jackson. The extent of his injuries are unkown at this time. A passenger on the motorcycle, 36-year-old Jana Sides, also of Greenville was treated and released. Fuller was not injured. Initial reports had said the accident was fatal. The accident is still under investigation by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. UPDATE: As of 1:00 pm the Mississippi Highway Patrol has corrected their original report to state that the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Highway 1.
