Car Accident Delays Alcorn State Fight Trials

Chicot Memorial

PORT GIBSON, MS (Ben Caxton) — A Friday morning car accident has delayed the court appearance for Alcorn State Football players arrested in a mass brawl. One of the primary accusers, Varrick Dyer, who had filed charges against at least a dozen players was on his way to court when the car he was riding in was involved in an accident. Dyer was hospitalized as a result of the wreck in Jefferson County and the decision was made to postpone the initial appearances of the nearly two dozen players who were arrested in the campus fight.
