Candidate needed to represent Greenville’s Ward 1 on local panel

Greenville voters go to the polls on Monday as Ward one will write in a candidate to fill the vacant City Council seat. Jessie King was the only candidate for the position but withdrew after the Democratic primary. To be eligible, a person must be registered to vote in the city of Greenville, live in Ward one and pass a background check. Those living in the ward should talk with neighbors and find out who has an interest in serving. When voting, touch “write in,” and a keyboard will pop up so you can type in the name of the person you want to serve as your city council member. The person with the most votes wins if qualifications are met.is
