Burn Ban for 47 Mississippi Counties

(Jackson, MS)- From excessive rainfall in the hot summer months of July to August, to very little rain this fall. That sets up a real problem when it comes to brush and wildfires. Several wild fires burned through multiple counties in MS at the beginning of the week. According to State Foresters, 9 out of 10 wildfires are caused by people. A burn ban puts the public on notice and raises awareness. The Mississippi Forestry Commission has put 47 counties on notice and violators will not only be fined, but could also be held responsible for damage.
