Bribes and Convictions Lead to New Arkansas Agency

LITTLE ROCK, AR (Ben Caxton) — Arkansas has a new Public Integrity Division of the Special Investigations Department. Attorney General Leslie Rutledge announced the creation of the new organization last Wednesday. The move comes after a series of guilty pleas and a conviction in public corruption cases in Arkansas. One of those cases involved a former Southeast Arkansas lawmaker who pleaded guilty in April to accepting bribes.
