Police were called to Denny’s Restaurant at 1839 Highway 1 South shortly before 6:00 am this morning. At the scene, police were told the robber had just fled in a maroon colored SUV, but police were unable to locate the vehicle. Store employee’s said a white male entered the restaurant and they attempted to seat him at a table. When the employees lost sight of the man, they went outside to sit in their vehicle. At that point, the suspect reappeared with a shotgun and pointed it at them. The suspect demanded money but the employee advised he did not have any. He did, however, hand over some personal belongings. The suspect then demanded the employee to get the money from the store, while he waited outside. The employee entered the store and told a co-worker to call the police. While they were inside the store the suspect used his vehicle to strike the building and an employee’s vehicle in the parking lot. The incident is still under investigation.
