BREAKING: One Dead, One Injured in Greenville Shooting

GREENVILLE, MS (Ben Caxton) — An early morning drive-by shooting has left one dead, and one injured in Greenville. Police were dispatched to the corner of McAllister and Orlando Streets in response to a 9-1-1 call of shots fired in the area. When they got to the scene they found a white Chevrolet passenger car with a man in the driver’s seat and a passenger standing outside the car. Both had been shot. An ambulance was called to transport the 22-year-old passenger who has not been named at this time to the hospital. The driver, identified as 41-year-old Larry Dudley was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner. A preliminary investigation by the Greenville Police Department indicates that the Chevrolet was stopped at a stop sign when an unknown vehicle traveling the opposite direction began to fire at the vehicle. At this time police say they have no suspects. Assistant Chief Michael Merchant tells Delta Daily News that the passenger was at DRMC at the time of the report in stable condition, but have been told he was expected to be flown to Jackson for further treatment.
