BREAKING: Early Morning Murder in Cleveland

CLEVELAND, MS (Ben Caxton) — Cleveland police are investigating an early morning murder. Chief Buster Bingham tells Delta Daily news that around  12:15 AM the police were called to the 800 block of Church Street saying shots had been fired. On arrival they did not find anything suspicious. However, about 15 minutes later at 12:30 AM an officer was patrolling and noticed a Chevy Malibu parked oddly in the 400 block of South Street. When he approached the vehicle he discovered 23-year-old Laplose Thompson slumped over in his car . Thompson was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. No further details are available at this time. Cleveland Police are investigating.
