A weather disturbance will combine with an arctic cold front moving south into the area to bring a mixture of light freezing and sleet. The wintry precipitation is expected to develop and move into extreme southeast Arkansas and north central Mississippi around midnight, and then gradually develop southward as much colder air moves into the advisory area. It is expected to move well south into northeast Louisiana and portions of central Mississippi along and north of the Interstate 20 corridor by daybreak Sunday, and then into locations just south of Interstate 20 by late Sunday morning and afternoon. The primary concern will be for light ice accumulations due to freezing rain that will cause bridges and overpasses to become very slick and hazardous. …WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO NOON SUNDAY…

* WHAT…Freezing rain expected…possibly mixed with sleet. The ice will result in difficult travel conditions. Total ice accumulations of up to one tenth of an inch are expected.

* WHERE…Portions of southeast Arkansas, northeast Louisiana, and central Mississippi.

* WHEN…Midnight to noon Sunday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Bridges and overpasses will be especially prone to ice accumulations, especially during the late night and early morning hours when precipitation will be heaviest and temperatures at their coldest.
