Blues musician Eddie “Son” House will be honored with a Mississippi Blues Trail maker in Rochester, New York tomorrow

Chicot Memorial

It’s the 14th Mississippi Blues Trail Marker located outside the state. Considered one of the most influential of the early Delta bluesmen, House was born near Clarksdale and became a preacher before he took up the blues. He was inducted in the Blues Hall of Fame in 1980 and died in 1988 in Detroit. He is already honored with a Mississippi Blues Trail marker on Old Highway 61 near Robinsonville in Tunica County
